Take Part

We believe in the power of music – to inspire, teach and transform lives.

Bristol Music Trust’s Creative Learning and Engagement department offers learning opportunities and professional development for thousands of young people, emerging creatives and adults across Bristol.

Our ambition is to make Bristol the UK capital of young people’s music making by ensuring every child has access to a range of music making opportunities, support exceptional emerging talent to develop their careers, and build a programme of life-long learning.

Bristol Plays Music

Bristol Plays Music (BPM) is our award-winning Music Education Hub for the city of Bristol. We want to ensure that every young person has access to music education activities and a platform for musical expression.

BPM reaches thousands children and young people annually working in 90% of schools across the city and through our three music centres.

National Centre for Inclusive Excellence (NCIE)

The UK’s music industry has been leading the way for decades, but not when it comes to representing everyone.

The NCIE is a national initiative established by Bristol Music Trust which aims to transform the music industry and education sectors by removing barriers to participation at all levels.

Evolution of the industry is only possible if we remove the barriers currently preventing many people from a meaningful musical life.

Talent Development

We’re proud to be one of the 40 PRS Foundation Talent Development partners in the UK, and along with funding from Help Musicians UK and Arts Council England, we’re investing in the next generation of UK talent.

Our talent development programme supports emerging, developing and aspiring music creators through artistic opportunities at the Hall and through our educational ‘into-industry’ programme Multi-Track, which gives young people and emerging artists the skills and confidence needed to progress in today’s creative industries..
